We Were Liars – E . Lockhart ◊ Book Review

As some of you may of heard, there were massive delays at the ferry crossing from Dovar to Calais. These delays were so bad it took us 26 hours to get to Holland.

I get travel sick. This means I can’t do anything whilst in a car. Listening to music is my only option on long journeys. However, for most of our journey we weren’t actually moving. Therefore, I was able to read my book.

To get an idea of how long we were there, I got a full nights sleep, I read a whole book and had HOURS to spare.

Now, I’m not the reading type. However, after putting some new books on my Kindle I have found myself reading at any possible moment.

I was actually going to give this book three and a half stars, however google didn’t have one of those that looked as nice. Just pretend half of the next star is filled in…

The book I was reading was ‘We Were Liars’ by E.Lockhart.

The book is based around four teenagers, Cady being the main character. The book follows their summer each year as they spend it together on a island that their family’s own.

The storyline throughout the book was interesting enough to keep me reading however, towards the end it made me not want to put the book down.

There was romance and mystery. The twist at the end was unexpected and I really liked it. It left me wanting to discuss it with someone. However, on a standstill motorway in a car with no one who has read it – that wasn’t going to happen.

Okay, I am going to end this review here before I give away too much. I would recommend reading this book, especially if you have a 26 hour journey to fill.

I have been away on holiday for the past two weeks which is why there has been tumbleweed blowing across my blog. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this review and it has inspired you to read this book.
